Who runs this site, and what it is not
the site operator operates Water Damage Houston Area as a referral website. It is not a restoration company. Nobody here is a technician, and the site owns no drying equipment and does no restoration work.
A call or request is handed to an independent restoration provider that answers calls for your area. That provider is its own business. It alone decides whether to accept the job, when it can arrive and what to charge.
How does a referral work?
- Call the number on this site, or fill in the request form.
- If a provider is taking calls for your ZIP code, your call or request goes to them.
- The provider speaks with you directly about the damage, the timing and the price.
- The hiring decision is yours, and nothing obliges you to hire them.
Provider availability shifts often. Some requests cannot be matched, and the provider will tell you whether they can reach you.
How does this site earn money?
A restoration provider or call network may pay us when a call or request from this site reaches them. You pay nothing to call or send a request. That payment does not mean we have inspected, licensed or approved a provider's work.
Before you hire anyone
Do your own checking. Request proof of liability insurance, ask what water damage training the technicians have, and get the scope of work and the pricing method in writing. The checklist on our homepage spells out what to look for.
Texas licenses some of the trades that show up on water damage jobs. The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners licenses and regulates plumbers and links a public license search. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold assessors and remediators and has its own license search. We found no statewide license for general contractors or restoration companies as such, so ask each provider which licenses and insurance apply to the work it quotes.
About the content on this site
Our guides describe general practice in water damage restoration and link to public sources, among them the EPA, FEMA, the Texas Department of Insurance and the Harris County Flood Control District. They are not legal, insurance or engineering advice, and the wording of your policy and the findings of the provider who inspects your property override them.
Testimonials, star ratings and certifications that we cannot verify do not appear here. Spot an error on this site and the contact page is where to report it, so we can correct it.
Referral disclosure
Water Damage Houston Area is a referral website, not a restoration contractor. We do not employ technicians or do restoration work. When you call or send a request, we connect you with an independent restoration provider who may serve your area. Prices, timing, licenses, insurance and the work itself are between you and that provider. Confirm them directly before you agree to anything.
